UPDATE: In Memory of Jesse…

As you may have seen, the fourth episode of True Blood was dedicated to Jesse James Cartwright. Jesse was part of the True Blood transportation crew and lost his life earlier this year, leaving behind his wife and three children. True Blood Staff, Cast and Fans are uniting to raise funds for Jesse’s family.

We have more news on the subject…
Last week TrueBlood-News, Sam-Tramell.com, AlexSkarsgard.net & FYeahJoeManganiello sent over $3,000 to The Jesse James Cartwright Fund. We successfully auctioned off the script for season 3 Ep 302, “Beautifully Broken” signed by Alexander Skarsgard with a final total of $3,250! How wonderful and thank you to the fans for participating!

UPDATE: I’ve talked to Sam and he’s game for doing more! This week we’ll be auctioning off a Tru Blood bottle signed by NOT ONLY SAM HIMSELF but 6 other cast members from the show…

THE AUCTION READS:
This is an authentic bottle of Tru Blood signed by Sam Trammell (Sam Merlotte), Kristin Bauer van Straten (Pam de Beaufort), Allan Hyde (Godric), Nelsan Ellis (Lafayette Reynolds), Todd Lowe (Terry Bellefleur), Brit Morgan (Debbie Pelt) and Ashley Jones (Daphne Landry) ((see photos)). Signings were witnessed by us personally (we run fan sites for Sam Trammell, Alexander Skarsgard and True Blood).

This glass bottle is from 2009 and remains unopened (I would NOT recommend drinking the contents, strictly for collectors).
What a great addition to your collection of True Blood Memorabilia or the perfect gift for the person who’s impossible to buy for that has a TRUE obsession for the show!

Description of the drink from the HBO site…

Sink your fangs into a bottle of Tru Blood, a delicious blood orange carbonated drink inspired by Bill’s favorite synthetic blood nourishment beverage. Tart and slightly sweet, Tru Blood pours like a regular soda but appears stormy and mysterious when poured into a glass. Bottoms up – and vampires, remember to drink responsibly!

The Tru Blood beverage features:

* Stunning bottle design is exact replica of bottles featured on show: stained in rich red with raised English lettering and matching Japanese Kanji!
* 14 ounce per bottle

This auction is to benefit Jesse’s family.

Sam Trammell & True Blood Fans Help Japan

It seems like everyday we hear more scary news coming out of Japan. More than 27,000 people have been killed or gone missing after a 9.0-magnitude earthquake and subsequent tsunami hit the region on March 11, 2011. The death toll is expected to rise as the search and recovery operations for the bodies continue. Some 15,000 survivors are still living in the evacuation centers as a series of aftershocks keep rocking the country. And today, Japan raised the severity level of its nuclear crisis to the maximum level 7.

Guess who cares… Sam Trammell does! We asked Sam if he would help support our drive to sell as many Blood Donor t-shirts as we can with all proceeds benefiting the Red Cross’s efforts in Japan. This adorable picture is what Sam sent back.

True Blood News, AlexSkarsgard.net, Sam-Trammell.com, Skarsgårdnews.com & Skarsgardfans.com have banded together to design a special “Blood Donor” t-shirt to help in what ways we can. 100% of the proceeds from these t-shirt sales will be sent to the Red Cross for their Japanese disaster relief efforts.

You can find the shirts in the True Blood News store.

Thank you and special thanks to Sam that dashing dude! MUCH LOVE FROM ALL OF US!

Well our friends at the Choroideremia Research Foundation have requested our help…

What do they need??? Just your vote!

For what…for whom???
Jeff Benelli, CHMer and a semi-finalist in the Energizer Bunny ‘Keep Going’ Hall of Fame!

FROM THE PRESS RELEASE…

Kansas City resident Jeff Benelli was today announced a semi-finalist in the Energizer Bunny ‘Keep Going’ Hall of Fame – which celebrates people who make a positive impact and inspire the world through their perseverance, determination, and boundless energy. Benelli, who is legally blind, having been diagnosed with the degenerative eye disease Choroideremia (CHM), has run a total of six marathons in the past five years while raising more than $106,000 to fund a cure for himself, his nephew, and others.

“This is an incredible accomplishment, and I am truly honored to place among the top 100 applicants in the Energizer Bunny ‘Keep Going’ Hall of Fame,” says Jeff Benelli. “However, I am even more honored to be recognized for raising awareness and funding for a cause that not only has the potential to save what’s left of my eyesight – but the sight of my 11-year-old nephew and so many others out there who are going blind because of this disease.”

Benelli has completed 6 marathons since 2005, finishing in the top 7% of his age class in each, and has raised more than $106,000 for the organization currently funding research for a cure – the Choroideremia Research Foundation (CRF). The CRF, which aims to support scientific research for a treatment or cure for CHM, has recently announced notable progress in the search for a cure – and plans to fund Phase 1 of the FDA-required clinical trials in December of 2012. These trials mark an important first step in the process to research, establish and provide a cure.

If named a finalist, Benelli will win a $1,000 donation to the charity of his choice, the CRF. The grand-prize winner will win a $5,000 donation, $10,000 cash, and a trip to St. Louis, Missouri. If named the grand-prize winner, Benelli plans to donate the entire $10,000 to the CRF.

Facebook users will choose one of the ten finalists by visiting facebook.com/energizer starting March 17, 2011 and voting for their favorite candidate. Once the finalists have been announced on April 4, 2011, individuals can visit www.energizer.com/halloffame to place their vote for the grand-prize winner. VERY IMPORTANT
Hello fellow surf saver!!!
This is a very important update in regards to the Actors for Oceans Gala.
Due to the down turn of the weather, we have sadly been forced to change the date of our much anticipated event.
The Falcon Restaurant is 90% outdoors, and as much as we have been looking forward to this coming Saturday, we’d rather see everyone comfortable and dry!
The location and time are exactly the same. Only the date has changed.
Saturday, November, 13th 2010
7PM – 11PM at The Falcon Restaurant in Hollywood.
Please let us know if you can no longer attend. If for some reason you can’t make it we can:
1. Give you a refund Or  2. Give you a tax form and use your previous ticket purchase as a donation
We are so sorry for this inconvenience. Mother Nature is working against us this weekend but November 13th is going to be fabulous.
Let us know how you wish to proceed.
We thank you so much for your understanding!
Best,
Jo Amari
