Actor Sam Trammell, who plays the aptly named “Sam Merlotte” on Alan Ball’s vampire sensation True Blood, confirmed that he will be in attendance at the Florida Hotel and Conference Center in Orlando, Florida on November 13-15, 2009 for the 1st True Blood Convention organized by EyeCon. EyeCon is a fan-friendly celebrity autograph convention for science fiction, horror, television, and movie fans. According the convention website:

Events currently scheduled for the True Blood Convention include a Friday Night Kickoff Cocktail Party, Saturday Evening Celebrity Banquet, Exclusive Platinum Party, as well as Celebrity Q&A Sessions, Autograph Sessions, Photo Ops and Breakfast Auctions. Reknowned tattoo artist Marc Draven will be setting up and tattooing on-site with True Blood themed tats! The party room will feature a steady supply of Guitar Hero & karaoke and will stay open late into the night. There will also be a Dealer’s Room filled with various horror, vampire and True Blood related vendors.
Currently Sam Trammell is the first member of the True Blood cast confirmed for the convention and there is no mention on the site of who else may be showing up. At this time, it’s anyone’s guess.
