Sam Trammell Guest Stars in New 10-episode Hulu Comedy

The streaming video service on Thursday announced Paul the Male Matchmaker, an original mocumentary series from Sex and the City’s Liz Tuccillo and Mad Men’s Paul Bartholomew.

The 10-episode series, from Warner Bros. Television Group’s Studio 2.0, revolves around a hopeless male matchmaker who has little to no affection for women but is determined to help them find a soul mate.

Bartholomew (whose credits include episodes of Mad Men, Eastwick and ER) will star as Paul in the series, set to launch Monday, Feb. 13 exclusively on Hulu. Guests slated to pop up on Matchmaker include Janeane Garofalo, House’s Lisa Edelstein, Arrested Development’s Tony Hale, Jonathan Silverman and our very own True Blood’s Sam Trammell among others.

Sam Trammell Joins ‘Long Time Gone’

Sam Trammell of “True Blood” has joined the cast of indie drama “Long Time Gone” alongside Virginia Madsen and Anthony LaPaglia.

Smokewood Entertainment is producing the film, with co-founder and producer Sarah Siegel-Magness (“Precious”) making her directorial debut.

Production began Sept. 12 in Los Angeles. Trammell began work Monday.

“Long Time Gone” also stars Zach Gilford, Amanda Crew and newcomer Graham Rogers. Karen McCullah (“The Ugly Truth”) wrote the screenplay based upon April Stevens’ novel “Angel, Angel.”

Story follows a broken family who must cope when the husband (played by LaPaglia) leaves his wife (Madsen) for another woman. Their sons have no idea what to do when their mother refuses to come out of her bedroom for days and then weeks.

Trammell plays an easy-going landscaper who hires one of the sons as a day laborer and befriends his distraught mother.

Bobbi Sue Luther, Gary Magness (“Precious”) and screenwriter McCullah are producing. Andrew Sugerman and Seth Jaret are exec producing.

Shooting will continue until Oct. 25.

The Trammell-Yager Boys Have Arrived!

Congratulations to True Blood’s Sam Trammell and girlfriend, Missy Yager on the birth of their twin boys. Life & Style reported the babies were born on August 9.

According to a source to Life & Style: “The couple is very happy that everything went smoothly.”

Sam, 40, who plays sexy Sam Merlotte on the hit HBO series, and longtime girlfriend Missy, an actress who has appeared on Mad Men and Boston Public, began dating eight years ago after meeting in New York doing theater.
